Engineering and construction company, Zinfra Southern Contracting, has completed work on a Horizon Power transmission line project in WA.

Zinfra was awarded the contract for the Horizon Power X2 and X1, 220kV line construction project in June 2015.

The project consisted of 6.3 kilometres of overhead transmission line (towers and mono poles), 800 metres of underground 220kV cable, three cable termination poles, and associated civil work and related infrastructure components.

The project was located near Port Hedland in Western Australia and work was undertaken under the direction of GHD Perth.

A small bush fire and high winds delayed the project for a short time in late 2015, before crews were able to resume work in early October.

The transmission line work has now been completed and powerlines are energised.
