It was only a few years ago that the thought of charging a car overnight in your garage was unimaginable.

Fast forward, and the increasing popularity of electric vehicles combined with reduced solar PV costs are making a future of EVs a reality.

Tesla Motors unveiled the prototype of its Tesla Model 3 in April 2016, the latest in its range of electric cars, which it says will “accelerate” the global drive for sustainable transport, while Redflow Executive Chairman, Simon Hackett, can now charge his Tesla Model S with solar power stored by his Redflow Large Scale Battery at his offices.

The EV and Charging Zone returns to the Australian Energy Storage Exhibition, Australia’s largest dedicated exhibition for the energy storage industry.

Featuring electric vehicles as well as residential, commercial, and network charging solutions to meet your personal or commercial requirements, see Tesla, ChargePoint, Mitsubishi Motors, JET Charge, BMW and Alphabet Australia and more on display at the free to attend exhibition.

The 2016 exhibition will also see the Hyundai Hydrogen Fuel Cell vehicle displayed on the show floor alongside these EV offerings.

The new all-electric BMW i3 on display

With the automotive industry facing a substantial upheaval between now and 2050, to reduce urban carbon footprint, the all-electric BMW i3 is the world’s first series-production model to be designed for sustainability at every stage, from the development of the car to its production and everyday use.

As an all-electric car, it generates zero emissions and no odours at the point of use.

But the BMW i3 is not just a green car. With its agility and acceleration – it takes just 7.2 seconds to sprint from 0-100km/h – first and foremost it delivers exceptional driving pleasure.

The world’s first plug in Hybrid SUV

Introducing the Mitsubishi Outlander Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV). Not only is it the first of its kind in Australia, but anywhere in the world, and it will be on display.

This is an SUV that will deliver unprecedented fuel economy, comfort, quietness, range and power. A clever combination of thinking from Mitsubishi’s all-electric i-MiEV, the rally honed four-wheel drive technologies from Lancer Evolution and the legendary off-road ability of the Pajero, the Outlander PHEV raises the bar for all motoring.

With exceptional comfort, refinement and safety, the PHEV brings ground breaking innovation together with superior environmental performance and quiet of an electric vehicle, the stability and handling of a 4WD and the practicality of an SUV. PHEV will change your view of SUVs.
